Meet Our Pastor

Reverend Margaret Edwina Simms is a native of Belize City, Belize and a resident of Gonzales, Louisiana. She is the first of five children born to Ms. Elva Moquel-Dizaar and the Honorable Gadsby Ramos. She is married to Reverend Andrew J. Simms, and together they are the parents of five adult children.

An Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church, Rev. Simms is a graduate of Bonner Campbell School of Religion, Slidell Baptist Seminary, and Andersonville Seminary. She has served faithfully in both the Central North Louisiana and Louisiana Conferences.

She has previously served as: 

• a Conference Trustee Board

• Secretary and Instructor to the Board of Examiners

• Central North Louisiana Women in Ministry Coordinator

​

She currently serves as:

• Director of Evangelism for the Louisiana Conference

• Financial Secretary for the Louisiana Conference Women in Ministry
